If all the bricks are evenly spaced out and are roughly the same size,it is likely that they are cavity walls.The majority of homes built after the 1920's have cavity walls.

If all the bricks are randomly spaced out and are different sizes, it is possible that there will not be a cavity.

How will I know if my home is suitable ?
Our experienced surveyors will study every wall and carry out a series of safety checks before any work is determined. A cavity needs to be roughly 50mm wide in order for it to be filled. Only homes with even cavities are suitable for insulation. Some properties including random stone houses cannot be worked on as their foundations are not compatible with the insulation material. You can feel confident that our qualified team will review every possibility and explain the process every step of the way.
Common Misconceptions
Cavity walls were originally built as a barrier to prevent moisture spreading to the inner body of a property. Some people believe that filling a cavity would only encourage condensation and rising damp. However, in line with modern building regulations, a new mineral wool material has been developed which is not only waterproof, but lets the walls breathe deterring any unwanted moisture. Loft Insulation

A fully insulated loft could save you around £175 a year and it is one of the cheapest and easiest measures to install. Yorkshire Energy Services uses a thick mineral fibre that is rolled out between the ceiling joists in a roof space. We install the Government's recommended 10.5inches of loft insulation which acts as a thermal barrier keeping the heat inside your home, helping you feel warmer and more comfortable. But what if I already have some loft insulation ?Yorkshire Energy Services provide a loft ‘top up’ service. If a property has 6 inches’ of insulation or less, we will top it up to a full 10.5 inches. Most homes built before 1996 could benefit from increasing the depth of loft insulation. |

How long does it take to install insulation ?
Depending on access and property type, installation timelines can vary. Typically for a standard 3 bedroom semi detached property it will take:
- Cavity wall Insulation – within half a day
- Loft insulation – within half a day
- Draught proofing – within half a day
- External Wall Insulation – within 2 working days
