About Green Deal
What is Green Deal ?
Set to launch in October 2012, the Government’s Green Deal initiative offers householders and small businesses access to energy saving products and services with no upfront installation costs. Home improvements such as cavity wall insulation, boiler replacements and solid wall insulation can be installed for free and then paid for over a period of up to 25 years through the customer’s energy bills.

Through monthly or quarterly installments, a proportion of the money saved on their fuel bills will be used to cover their costs, helping them save energy and money throughout the life time of the scheme. What’s more, the cost of Green Deal service are attached to the property not the customer, so if you sell your house the Green Deal repayments will just get reassigned to the new homeowner.
All energy bill repayments will be lower than the money each resident saves on their fuel bills. By implementing Green Deal services in your home, you will not only save energy but be financially better off in the long term. Every UK householder or company wishing to save energy now has a fantastic opportunity to improve their properties efficiency in the most economic way with no upfront cost or increased overheads. |

As part of your Green Deal application, your home or business outlet will be assessed to check its suitability for energy saving services. An action plan will then be produced which will indicate the range of services available to your specific property and the expected energy bill savings that these would offer.
You can then take this action plan to any Green Deal provider and arrange for an installation date. The payback period will be indicated in the plan against every possible service to signify how your future energy bill savings will cover your installation costs.
