Hampshire Home Gets First Rate Loft Insulation Service

Ronald Wilson from Basingstoke was browsing the internet when he came across ‘Insulate Hampshire,’ a Local Authority backed scheme managed by Yorkshire Energy Services offering subsidised cavity wall insulation and loft insulation to Hampshire Householders.

Knowing his current loft insulation was sparse, he contact the helpline for more information. ‘loft insulation for only £99 is brilliant’ explained Ronald. ‘I just couldn’t turn it down.’



After speaking to a representative from Insulate Hampshire, Ronald felt assured he would benefit from the scheme and was keen to get involved after learning that Basingstoke and Deane District Council were also involved.

Insulate Hampshire is backed by Hampshire County Council and 11 District, City and Borough Council’s from across the region. The scheme allows Hampshire residents to access affordable insulation and in some cases free cavity wall and loft insulation. 

A technical surveyor visited Ronald to check if his property was suitable. After a through safety check an installation appointment was arranged. ‘The surveyor and installers were all excellent’, explained Ronald. ‘The surveyor was here soon after we called to enquire and then the installers were friendly, thorough and very tidy.  They even insulated the loft hatch for us and draught excluded the edge.’

Ronald now feels that his home is fully prepared to face the cold weather.  ‘My wife and I have definitely noticed a difference when we go upstairs. It feels particularly warmer in the evenings now. Our experience of Insulate Hampshire was a pleasurable one and we’ve been recommending it to all our friends.’

Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for the Environment, Cllr Elaine Still stated:  ‘I am pleased to see that local residents are already taking advantage of this affordable scheme; helping to make their home warmer in the winter months whilst also saving money on fuel bills and reducing their carbon footprint.’
